I’m ashamed to say how long it’s been since I last really posted here. I’ve kept the site alive by throwing images from my Instagram feed into an autopost generator, but I wrote my last honest to goodness post on May 9. WTF?
I swear I thought about writing almost every day since May, but I got distracted.
I’m not beating myself up over it, but I want to get back to blogging regularly…more importantly, writing regularly…blog posts, poems, short stories, shopping lists…anything as long as I have words going from my mind to the page.
And this was a busy summer.
BIG LIFE CHANGE #1 -> Courtney and I bought a house…in Bentonville…in June.
I love Fayetteville. L-O-V-E it, but I couldn’t take the 45-minute one-way commutes anymore.
Bentonville gets cooler every day, the new house is 12 minutes from work.
BIG LIFE CHANGE #1A -> We moved Courtney into the house first. Truck loads #1 and #2 over 2 days. Ugh!
BIG LIFE CHANGE #2 -> I proposed on July 12. We’d discussed getting married for awhile, and we wanted to have all our kids involved in the ceremony. That gave us 3 WEEKS to plan before Courtney’s girls went back to Florida for school.
BIG LIFE CHANGE #3 (maybe #1B) -> I moved my stuff into the house. Truck load #3…At this point I never want to move again.
BIG LIFE CHANGE #4 -> THE WEDDING…even with only three weeks to plan, the ceremony was exactly what we wanted. A small event with family and a few friends officiated by a very good friend. Full of meaning and relatively low in stress. (Although every wedding is at least a little stressful.)
So that was my summer. All our kids are back in school and we’re settling down into our post-summer routine.
I’ve missed blogging, missed writing, and plan to put a lot more energy here and into the Collective Bias blog.
